The September sun is coming. The slight shift in light. They remember. The water is right above their shins, just below the knee. The reflection of the moon they saw last night is still cast on the surface of the water they stand in. They’re afraid to take a step.  At that very moment an insect lands on the surface and then takes off again causing a slight ripple, a disturbance to them. They tend to be in denial regarding the currents of nature. They tend to escape from memory by bending the common reality.

They disagree as to whether water has these sort of problems.

They forgot to notice their own reflections on the surface of the water
